Born in Montreal, Robert Benaroya moved to the West Coast in 1991 to pursue a career in environmental management. Inspired by his studies and practice of flamenco dance and music in the mid-1990’s, he began presenting Flamenco shows and workshops, and switched careers into arts management. In 2000, he founded Caravan World Rhythms, presenting a year-round series of culturally diverse music and dance. He has pursued informal musical training in African, Latin, and middle-eastern percussion and music, and various cultural dance practices over the years. Robert currently resides in Victoria, exploring magical places on the West Coast.
