Sina Bathaie is a composer based in Toronto known for his unique approach toward Persian contemporary music. Born in Iran, Sina started learning Santur at the age 7 from his father, Master Javad Bathaie. He followed his passion, practicing Radif (Persian classical repertoire) on the Oud and studying Tonbak (Persian percussion), participating at artist residencies (including the Banff Center for Performing Arts), and engaging in numerous collaborations. His first album “Sound of Silence” was produced in Montreal, to critical acclaim. Sina is active in the movie industry, composing original music for movies including “The Horse Latitudes” and “Un Royaume Déménage”.
