Who are they?

Mundial presents the best of Canadian world music, as well as international artists, to both industry professionals and Montreal audiences. The artists were chosen because, beyond their artistic quality, we believe they have reached the point for obtaining national and international exposure.


Each year, Mundial Montréal invites artists to submit their applications in order to be considered for a 25-minute showcase in the program of our annual conference.

The number of artists presented is very limited and we make sure that there is no overlap with other activities or showcases in the program.

We are looking for artists who will benefit and know how to take advantage of our event to develop their careers at a national and international level.

Having a representative, a recently released album, a few shows, a music video and a fanbase on social networks are good indicators.

The cost is $40 CAD per application (non-refundable).

Frequently asked questions

Artists must complete an online application form with basic information such as a short biography, music, photos and a press kit. Be sure to provide up-to-date information and the best possible material: it is better to maximize your chances! Please use the official submission method – do not send us an application by email or regular mail.

Once the application is submitted, the main contact will receive a confirmation email. The pre-selection committee then analyses the applications and gives a mark based on the originality, artistic quality and career progress of the group. The top-rated artists are then submitted to the programming team for official invitations.

A notification will be sent to the main contact by mid-September to inform you of your final status.

We listen to all applications.

If you are not selected, we do not refund, but you will be entitled to one (1) artist’s bracelet that gives access to panels and showcases. Please note that you must make a request by mid-September at the following address:

This does not prevent you from registering and participating as a delegate!

It is strongly recommended to ensure that you have the necessary funding for your travel before submitting your application.

We cannot provide support for travel, accommodation and living expenses for artists.

You are responsible for obtaining the necessary visa(s) to play in Canada and electronic travel authorization (EV or eTA) to enter Canada.

We are doing our best to offer a basic backline for artists who are based outside Montreal (drums, bass amps and guitar).

Performing artists will receive an artist bracelet for each band member on stage only – artist bracelets provide access to panels and showcases. To receive them, the representative must pick up his badge and bracelets at the accreditation desk located at Hotel 10 (10 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec, H2X 4C9) from November 19 to 22, 2019.

Selected artists must have a representative on site who will participate in the 4 days of the event and will have purchased the “PRO + 3 networking dinners” pass. The representative must be identified upon acceptance of the offer.

It is imperative that the artist’s representative complete the online survey(s) that Mundial Montréal will send after the event by providing information and a list of business spin-offs generated such as: the list of offers (signed or under discussion) with a festival, room, agency, management, press relations, publishing house // the list of media coverage mentioning the artist // the number of connections made during the 4 days // etc.
