North American premiere of the documentary film The Africa Express!

In 2012 Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project featured as a part of the London 2012 Festival, a part of the Cultural Olympiad.

We took a 1970’s British Rail diesel train around the UK with 80 artists on it, rehearsing on the train and doing performances each night for a week, culminating in our own incredible festival at Kings Cross Station in London.

Featuring Amadou & Mariam, Baba Maal, Bombay Bicycle Club, Damon Albarn, Thandiswa Mazwai, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) Dead Prez, Nicolas Jaar, Paul McCartney, Peter Hook (New Order), Rokia Traore, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Noisettes, The Libertines, Tony Allen, Spoek Mathambo, Fatoumata Diawara, Bassekou Kouyate and many, many more.

The Africa Express is the film about what happened in that insane week.

Tickets on sale Wednesday, October 4 at noon.

The screening will include a brief introduction by co-founder and director Stephen Budd as well as a Q&A session at the end.
